Grucox Ergonometers
Our ergonometers are state of the art machines that allow for dynamic eccentric and concentric muscle strength testing and training. A unique test for neuromuscular scoring has also been included.
The machine takes the form of a recumbant bicycle with two flat panel LCD screens which display relevant feedback to the operator and patient. The machine has powered cranks against which the patient exercises. Electronics have been specially developed to control the machine functions. A specially developed software package provides the interface to the machine. It has a database element that stores all the test results along with patient data. The test or training results are displayed in real time on the two flat panel screens.
Three versions of the machine are currently available:
Grucox Research
Grucox Professional
Grucox Gym
The Research version is geared towards university and research institutions. The Professional version is aimed at physio therapists and rehabilitation centres while the Gym version is a simpler machine that allows for eccentric muscle strength training in a gym environment.
Please contact us for further information and we will be happy to send you further information on our machine and our research.

Grucox new Eccentric Exercise cycle
Grucox new Eccentric Exercise cycle developed by a team of surgeons, biokinetisists and engineers is determined to change the gyms as we see them today.
- The one of a kind cycle uses latest AC servo system for control.
- The cycle comes with a user-friendly touch screen, one touch one function button.
- The touch screen allows a person to login, set and measure, torque and speed of cycle’s pedals.
- The screen dynamically displays real time progress of effort, speed and torque against set points. Gym members cannot over exercise and injure themselves.
- The cycle can distinguish left pedal from right pedal and can display forces applied on each pedal in Newtons and Kilograms.
- At the end of an exercise the cycle displays strength score and endurance score, allowing members to personally monitor their progress.
Touch screen
- Touch screen front is water and dust proof.
- High resolution and high-speed graphic controller
- High speed 32bit RISC CPU (arm processor)
- Windows-based HMI system design software tool
Servo Motor
- The Grucox new Eccentric Exercise cycle’s compact design was realised by the use of high-performance servomotor.
- Servomotor allows improved Cycle control by the use of high precision dedicated encoders.
Servo Drive
- Servo Drive allows Cycle’s precision control realised by the application of high performance control algorithm.
- The servo drive allows various interfaces with peripheral devices (touch loader, PC. PLC) by the use of safe communication protocol
Eccentric training
Eccentric training involves the strengthening of the muscle by means of progressive loading while the muscle is lengthening.Benifits
- Benefits of eccentric training include prevention of musculoskeletal injuries
- Improvement of sports performance, by advancing muscle potential and overcoming musculoskeletal impairments that may ultimately lead to joint dysfunction and pathology.
- In the weight bearing joints of the knees there is emerging evidence that eccentric training is effective in strengthening the quadriceps muscles resulting in a reduction of impact forces on the knee joint during weight bearing activity.
- Eccentric training is also important in the management and prevention of tendon related injuries.
Grucox Buddy Cycle
The buddy cycle allows two cyclists to pedal against each other. Two bicycles are connected together using a gearbox, thus allowing the gear ratio between two bikes to be changed to balance the efforts of two cyclists. One cyclist pedals concentrically while the other one tries to slow him down by pedalling eccentrically.
